Dog Training

At Evolutionary K9, it's all about understanding your dog's behavior. We will set you on the path of critical thinking and explain how a dog's evolution has affected his biology — and through that knowledge we can learn to modify, change or adjust unwanted behaviors while at the same time earning trust and confidence and reinforcing wanted behavior.

We believe one training method isn't for all dogs, so we focus on a combination of classical and operant conditioning as the foundation of training — but primary importance is the understanding of how a dog thinks and makes decisions. Our training classes are for all members of the family over the age of 14. We do offer a separate class for younger students focusing on the relationship between kids and dogs, emphasizing appropriateness as well as understanding how dogs view the young.
